Unit 30: Task 3: P3 + M2

Task 3
Create digital imagery that reflects the department you have chosen at The Kingswood School as a bitmap.Combine a scanned historical image with a current digital image.  Add some text and a cut-out.

                                                                          M2:

Firstly I had located two images of The Kingswood Secondary Academy and saved them to my area so I could easily open them in Photoshop. I have to ensure that both images where the same size at 300pixels/inch for its resolution.

From this image I had to ensure that it overlapped the image of the school, I interacted where it overlapped with the ruler line. By doing this when I add a layer mask to the layer it will allow me to use the gradient tool and drag it from the image to the ruler line so that it blends the two images together. The layers are key and need to be unlocked otherwise you are incapable of making alterations to the original images. The gradient will make the image appear transparent so that it overlaps and blends will the base image.
The image uses RGB colour which is typically used for bitmap and web images which this image is aimed at. RGB is also known as the addition of colour which will mix various types(shades) of each specific colour, it combines the primary and secondary additive colours also to create specific colours like magenta. Each pixel that appears is initially black, then the pixels are illuminated reds and blues to form white pixels which are all used throughout RGB. All images used use additive colours to reproduce the various colours that are in the image.

When adding the text I selected the Horizontal Type Tool and type in Shaping the minds of our future, I altered the lettering size to 72pt and then change the Shaping the minds in black font and of our future in white font. Then I altered the opacity of the font to 67% opacity, and then I maneuvered it around to the placing I desired.

 The Cut out:
>I imported the image into Photoshop.
>Made the layer image unlocked so I was able to drag my image across and place it on my background image of the school.
>From there I used the magnetic lasso tool to outline the image and remove any colour that I do not need.
>I also used the eraser tool to avoid any of the images covering my background image.
>Then I moved the placement of the cut out and left the opacity at 100%.
>I also added a slight mast to use the gradient tool to make the cut-out blend and fade into the other blend I had created.
The image resolution I chose was 300pixels/inch as the higher the resolution the better graphic that will be produced and is visible.

  1. www: P3 is to demonstrate the use of editing tools to edit and manipulate images, this has clearly been achieved. Well done.

  2. www. M2. An super piece of work. You have clearly justified the software, tools and colour depth used for creating your blended image and then badgered me to mark it so here it is. Well done.
